We could physically lift the round into position, but sometimes the power of the slider trying to tackle the round caused it to sink once more. As for the rest of the magazine, we didn’t have many problems (pretty much what you’d expect from another 22-liter autoloader pistol). I have seen, however, that the slide on the G44 works … in a delicate way. It does not turn on and close on power up and I can see this is a problem.

We left the viewfinder ahead that day because we needed the Glock 44 to be a winner. Without cleaning the gun, we went back to the scope to test it some more and, amazingly, the Glock 44 worked perfectly. There are definitely still intermittent issues with rimfire weapons – we had a smoke exhaust bug and a fire bug (which could have been ammo) during the entire beam meeting. This is very good in my book.

Of course, the magazines should be “rotated”. Maybe the plastic feed lips are causing excessive drag when new, so the slide pushing the bullet base causes the bullet to tip down instead of sliding the cartridge?

We don’t know why it works better now, but there was an observable period where there was an issue with magazine-initiated crashes for two or three hundred changes that seem to have resolved themselves.
